Time stops when you're here.

Dovecote Ranch lies just inland from California’s stunning Central Coast, 40  minutes north of Santa Barbara.  Situated between the small historic towns of Los Alamos to the north and Los Olivos to the south, we're easy to find just two miles off Highway 101.  And yet when you're here, you'll forget the weight and urgency of urban life and surrender to the quiet placidity and invigorating sensory experience of your Dovecote retreat.

Our family

We first visited the property we would later call Dovecote Ranch in 2010, though we would not be ready to move our family from Los Angeles to Los Alamos for another four years.  Miraculously, the ranch waited for us and we became its humble stewards in 2014.  Since then we've focused on farming, ranching, crafting elegant estate wines, and raising our family in a bucolic setting.

A dovecote is a structure used in ancient times to shelter and raise birds for sustenance.  It also means "a harmonious group of people working together."  We take pride in working with our small staff and crew to farm ultra premium grapes.  We also enjoy inviting guests to experience the harmony of this land for themselves and create their most cherished memories here.

We look forward to hosting your retreat,

The Rowles Family
